<< My Thanksgiving Vacation >>

Adam got here on Wednesday night. Thursday morning, we caught the ferry to Orcas Island. Our little hotel was very nice, and had a view. It was sort of Victorian, but not that disgustingly ornate kind of Victorian--it was more like staying in Anne of Green Gables' bedroom.

We hiked a lot--three or four hikes, total, on beaches and around lakes and up to waterfalls. We went to the top of Mt. Constitution, and saw Mt. Baker and Mt. Rainier and all kinds of mountains in between, with clouds swirling over the water beneath us.

We had Thanksgiving Dinner at Rosie's restaurant. Sweet potatoes and stuffing and everything. The waiter hated us, though, because I giggled during the Wine-Tasting Ceremony. I dislike the Wine-Tasting Ceremony.

Saturday morning we came back to Seattle, and saw this cool exhibit at the Henry, all about how postmodern architecture (think Office Space) is killing your soul.

Saturday night we saw Far from Heaven, which was pretty good. The best thing about it is that it's about race tensions, but not only does it not take place in the South, it makes a point of taking place in the north. I hate it when movies act like racism is and has always been a problem for southern rednecks and southern rednecks alone.

Sunday I took him to the airport. I really think he might be a sun god, because it was sunny the whole time he was here but as soon as we got to the airport it began to cloud over, and by the time his plane took off it was completely overcast.

I guess I should mention, too, that we broke up over the course of the weekend. It's very sad, but that's all that you need to know about it, Internet.
