<< The kind of information you might want to withhold >>

Went out for drinks with T. and R. last night, first to Linda's and then to the Cha Cha. R. had been told that the Cha Cha was the quintessential hipster/scenester bar in Seattle, so we were a little intimidated, but decided we could probably pass with the Wednesday night crowd. They made me walk in first.

Two guys zeroed in on T. and R. within about ten minutes of our sitting down. The guy chatting up T. promptly announced that he still lived with his parents, and R.'s fella said that he had been unemployed and smoking a lot of pot for over a year.

I know economic times are tough, guys, but this is the kind of information you might want to withhold until you've wowed the ladies with your amazing rubber band collection, or your encyclopedic knowledge of late night infomercials. You know?

They announced yesterday that the Firm will, despite rumors to the contrary, be offering late Christmas bonuses to the staff. Considering that I haven't worked here all that long and the fact that the bonuses are partially performance-based, I am not expecting big money. But maybe I can at least pay off those New Orleans parking tickets so the police will quit hassling my dad.

Stupid parking tickets. Everyone said I wouldn't have to pay them.
