I realized last night as the results came in that I had never really thought Kerry could lose. I mean, Gore won the popular vote in 2000, and after everything that's happened since then--Iraq, the economy, all the stupid lies--how could Kerry lose?
I know it sounds childish--Bush-ish, in fact--but these election results make me feel like people in this country are just bad. Either selfish or stupid, and I'm not sure which is worse.
Monkey said last night that she had been planning to have a baby in the next four years, but that she didn't feel great about raising a baby in a country run by Bush. Hell, I don't even feel great about raising a cat in a country run by Bush. Poor Neko--she's only four, so she can't even remember better times.
In conclusion, I don't really know what to do, except call Planned Parenthood and see if they need any volunteers. And possibly marry a Canadian.
