<< a story for my northwestern (and internet) friends >>
2005-01-20 - 1:56 p.m.

My mom called the other night to tell me that she and my dad have probably sold their house, although they haven't closed on it yet. They're all excited about getting rid of it and moving to their new farm. Then she said,

"Do you want a story to tell all of your Northwestern friends?"

The story was that one day last week a realtor called and asked if she could show the house right away. My mom said it was a mess and asked for an hour to clean it up. The realtor was pretty insistent--she kept saying a little dirt wouldn't make any difference--but Mom stood her ground.

Finally the realtor said, "Really, Kathy, there's no need to clean up. These people are Indians."
