My booktalk to the middle school students went really well. It was a whole bunch of classes, from 7:45 am to 1:30 pm, for 6th through 8th graders at one of the toughest middle schools in town. The YA librarian and the school librarian agreed that I was a born booktalker.
I do realize how pathetic that sounds, but I'm not good at very many things so I have make the best I can out of what I've got. I'm a pretty mediocre reference librarian, for instance, but at least I can make 8th graders shut up and pay attention.
